For Mode 1 systems, the NEC Dterm PSII offers 6 preset and 9 programmable softkeys for a total of 15. Mode 2* systems add an additional five preset keys and one programmable for a total of 11 preset and 10 programmable softkeys. All can be accessed by pressing the F1, F2 or F3 feature keys and pressing the up and down scroll keys as needed to move between levels. Preset features include:

To Enter Names in the Directory

Push the FNC/CLEAR key.

For example, press the “2″ key once for “A,” twice for “B,” three times for “C” and four times for the number “2.” Press the Pause key to shift to lower case mode.

Searching for Directory Entries Manually:

  • While in a standby state, push the F1 key. PSII displays:
  • To search the Directory in alphabetical order, press Scroll Down key.
  • You may push the Scroll Up key to scan in reverse order.
  • Once you’ve found the name you’re looking for, press L1 or L2* to dial the number.

2-11-1Searching the Directory by Name:

    • While in a standby state, push the F1 key. PSII displays:
  • Key in the first few letters of the person’s last name and then push the down key. The PSII will display names that start with those letters. If you enter just the first letter, it will match to that letter. If you enter the first two letters, it will match to the first two, and so on.
  • If the name you’re looking for is not displayed, use the Scroll Down or Scroll Up keys to locate the next name and number. Continue to press the Scroll Down or Scroll Up keys until you locate the desired name.
  • Press L1 or L2* to dial the number.

2-12-2To Enter Speed Dial Numbers

    • Press the FNC/CLEAR key.
    • Enter 03 or 04 for Mode 2* systems. PSII displays:
    • Press F1 key. PSII displays:2-9-2
  • Enter in your speed dial number ­ 01 through 20.
    • Press L1 to enter. PSII displays:
  • Key in the name using the chart on back inside flap2-10-1
    • Press L1 to enter name. PSII displays:
  • Key in the digits for that number.
  • Press L1 to enter digits.
  • Press L1 again to confirm.
  • Press END/PWR button to exit.NOTE: Do not remove the battery until at least one minute has elapsed since entering Directory or Speed Dial entries.*** Mode 2 features are only available on NEAX2000 IVS Series 1900 software or NEAX2400 IMX Series 7300 software & Dterm PSII Version 7.00/Zone Transceiver Version 5.00 software or later.

To Use Speed Dial

    • While in a standby state, press F2.
  • Key in the speed dial number-01 through 20.
  • Press L1 or L2* to dial the number or press one of the scroll keys to scroll through the list of speed dial entries.***Mode 2 features are only available on NEAX2000 IVS Series 1900 software or NEAX2400 IMX Series 7300 software & Dterm PSII Version 7.00/Zone Transceiver Version 5.00 software or later.

To Use Last Number Redial

The NEC Dterm PSII retains the last five numbers you have called. For Mode 2* systems, it retains the last five numbers dialed on either L1 or L2*. To access those numbers:

    • While the phone is in a standby state, press F3.
  • The PSII will display the last number dialed.
  • If that is the number you wish to dial, press L1 or L2*.
  • If that is not the number you wish to dial, press the Scroll Down key to scroll through the last five numbers dialed.*** Mode 2 features are only available on NEAX2000 IVS Series 1900 software or NEAX2400 IMX Series 7300 software & Dterm PSII Version 7.00/Zone Transceiver Version 5.00 software or later.

To Use Call Forwarding

2-13-1Note: Before using this feature, the call forwarding access codes need to be established. Refer to PSII Functions to set call forwarding access codes. If you do not establish access codes first, then the PSII display will show:

2-13-22-13-3Call Forwarding allows you to forward incoming calls to other numbers.

  • While the phone is in a standby state, press Scroll Down key to access Level 2 features. PSII displays:2-14-1
  • Press F1 to select Call Forwarding or F2 in a Mode 2* system. PSII displays:
  • Press F1 to set the extension to forward busy calls and select L1 or L2* to 2-14-2specify which line to forward, then dial the destination number to forward the calls to; OR press the Scroll Down key for Call Forward D/A. PSII displays:
  • Press F1 to set the extension to forward calls which are not answered and 2-14-3select L1 or L2* to specify which line to forward, then dial the destination number to forward the calls to; OR press the Scroll Down key for Call Forward All. PSII displays:
  • Press F1 to set the extension to forward all calls and select L1 or L2* to 2-14-4specify which line to forward, then dial the destination number to forward the calls to; OR press the Scroll Down key for Call Forward N/R. PSII displays:
  • Press F1 to set the extension to forward to when there is No Response and select L1 or L2* to specify which line to forward, then dial the destination number to forward the calls. This forward is enabled when the handset is either turned off or has left the service area.***Mode 2 features are only available on NEAX2000 IVS Series 1900 software or NEAX2400 IMX Series 7300 software & Dterm PSII Version 7.00/Zone Transceiver Version 5.00 software or later.

2-5-22-5-3To Transfer a Call

While you are speaking on the phone, the PSII will display:

NOTE: If Calling Party Name is not available then the calling party number will appear in the display for Mode 2* systems.

    • If you wish to transfer this call, press F2.
  • You will now hear a special dial tone. Key in the telephone number you wish to transfer the call to.
  • Press END/PWR to complete the transfer. Your PSII will return to the standby state.***Mode 2 features are only available on NEAX2000 IVS Series 1900 software or NEAX2400 IMX Series 7300 software & Dterm PSII Version 7.00/Zone Transceiver Version 5.00 software or later.

To Use Calling Party Number

2-15-3Calling Party Number (CPN) lets you scroll through the last five numbers of people who called you. For Mode 2* systems, it retains the last five calls received on either L1 or L2*.

  • 2-15-4In the standby state, your PSII will display:
    • Press the Scroll Down key once so your PSII displays:
    • Press F3 for Mode 1 systems or F1 for Mode 2* systems.
  • 2-15-5The PSII displays the number of the person who called you most recently.
  • Press the Scroll Down key repeatedly to scroll through the numbers of the last five people who called you.
  • When you find the number you wish to call, press L1 or L2*.NOTE: If you wish to call someone who called you from out of the office, enter the outside access code (for example “9″) before going into CPN.2-16-1Before your phone has received its first call, if you access CPN, an error tone sounds and PSII displays:***Mode 2 features are only available on NEAX2000 IVS Series 1900 software or NEAX2400 IMX Series 7300 software & Dterm PSII Version 7.00/Zone Transceiver Version 5.00 software or later.

To Adjust Call Volume

For Mode 1 Systems:

  • Press the Scroll Down or Scroll Up key and hold for more than two seconds during a call to adjust Call Volume.
